The Low Down

We provide a transitional living program to individuals in early recovery who have already completed primary treatment.  The focus of our program is the development of sustainable skills for living a positive, healthy life-style without drugs or alcohol.  The program is based in Baja California and places strong emphasis on examining ways in which the principles of surfing can assist individuals in enriching their own recovery process.  This is incorporated with traditional 12 step recovery.  In addition, participants learn about and take advantage of yoga, as a means of developing and improving whole-person health.  Nutritional assessments are provided for each individual and meals are coordinated to enhance physical and mental well-being.  The program is structured to provide participants with a regular weekly schedule, while simultaneously allowing participants to learn how to wisely spend free time.

Activities include:  12 step meeting attendance, Yoga, Surfing or other ocean-related activity (body-boarding, ocean-kayaking, paddle-boarding).
Additional activities include:  Spanish lessons (beginner and intermediate levels available), Gym or Cross-fit, fishing, diving, horse-back riding/equine therapy, and first-aid instruction.
Participants are strongly encouraged to participate in volunteer work, which is readily available and needed in the area. (Orphanage visits, Animal Rescue, Shelters).
